The influence of cordierite on mullite-bauxite

 

(1) After heat treatment at 1000°C and 1300°C, the linear shrinkage of mullite-bauxite castables decreases with the increase of cordierite content;
(2) The bulk density of mullite-bauxite castables decreases with the increase of cordierite content;
(3) After heat treatment at 1000°C and 1300°C, the flexural strength of mullite-bauxite castables decreases with the increase of cordierite content;
(4) When w (cordierite) = 5%, the compressive strength of mullite-bauxite castables after different heat treatment temperatures is the maximum；

(5) As the content of cordierite increases, the mullite-bauxite castable helps to improve the thermal shock resistance of the material, the strength retention rate of the material gradually increases, and the lower bulk density is conducive to material acquisition higher strength retention rate after thermal shock.
