The causes of steel leakage in ladle slide gate plate

 

1. Mechanical reasons of sliding nozzle

When the static pressure of the molten steel is greater than the surface pressure of the slide gate plate, a gap occurs between the slide gate plates, which causes steel leakage between the slide gate plates during the pouring process.

2. Operation and installation reasons of slide gate plate

(1) The installation surface of slide gate plate is not cleaned, or too much refractory mud is used when installing the upper nozzle;

(2) The surface pressure of the slide gate plate is not enough;

3. The quality reason of the slide gate plate

(1) The material of the slide gate plate cannot meet the steel casting requirements of the steel grade;

(2) Cracks are generated during the use of the slide gate plate and are abnormally enlarged.

4. The operation reasons of steel casting

When the nozzle can not be automatically poured, it needs to be burnt with oxygen. If the slide gate plate is not fully opened, it will be burnt with oxygen, which will cause the upper slide surface to be seriously burnt.
