Sometimes when the drain is in use, a gap is formed between the lower slide plate and the molten steel penetrates into the gap to form a clamping steel. In severe cases, it will pass through here, causing a safety accident.

There may be the following reasons for ladle nozzle clamp steel:

(1) During hot repair, if the spout screw sleeve is not tightened in place or expands under high temperature, there will be a gap between the spout and the spout, causing the spout to loosen. Deformation of the spigot, or poor contact between the spout and spigot, and the spigot does not provide a good fixation effect, which may also cause the spout to clamp steel or even leak.
(2) It may be that the fire mud of the joint between the drain and the lower sliding plate is too thick, the bonding strength is poor, and the shrinkage during sintering is large, which causes the refractory material of the drain to move down, produce looseness, and easily cause steel clamping, or even It's a breakout.
(3) The repeated operation of installing the shroud will cause the shroud to generate a moment of force on the drain. If it undergoes multiple reciprocating movements, it may also loosen the drain. In particular, if the seal is severely stuck to steel and the shroud is removed with too much force, it may loosen the drain, causing steel to be clamped and leaked at the joint between the drain and the lower ladle slide plate.

Therefore, pay attention to tightening the screw sleeve after replacing the nozzle during hot repair, check whether the nozzle is loose during continuous sliding, and replace the deformed screw sleeve in time; Improve the quality of the fire mud; the operation of the long nozzle should be standardized to prevent the long nozzle sleeve from being deflected.
