The consumption of graphite electrode in EAF steelmaking
runs through the whole smelting process, and its consumption is

1.Poor quality or improper proportion of scrap steel leads to poor slagging effect and prolonged smelting time
The increase of feeding times and drilling data increases the probability of damage and fracture of electrode bottom; Longer smelting time is the direct factor that leads to the increase of power consumption and electrode consumption and loss.2.Two electric furnace power supply equipment and electrode specifications do not match
Electric arc furnace power transmission is a high-current and low-voltage operation. If the capacity of the power supply equipment is too large and exceeds the limit load of the electrode, the electrode will be reddened from bottom to top within 5~10min after arc starting, and the boundary of the joint is very obvious and most of them have broken accidents; If the current is too high or fluctuates too much, the joint breaking frequency at the joint will increase and the bottom consumption will be tapered. If the power supply capacity is low, the furnace temperature will not meet the process requirements within the effective medium heating time, and the operation will need to be delayed. Overload and overtime operation is the biggest loss and consumption of graphite electrode.3. Oxidation stage forcibly increases chemical energy and improves smelting intensity
In smelting, the oxygen blowing amount (generally less than 45m/t) is forced to increase to achieve rapid melting and raise the furnace temperature, so that the furnace condition is bad, the furnace and the furnace are in an oxygen-enriched state, and each phase electrode is in a high-temperature flame. When the electrodes are in such furnace conditions, most of them have serious phenomena of delamination and surface oxidation.4. Technical configuration and operation of electric furnace
