The applicaion of casting powder

During continuous casting, the casting powder is mostly used (together with submerge nozzle) except from casting billets with small section. Practice has proved that this process is one of the important conditions to ensure the quality and normal operation of casting billet. In the early 1970s, the process was successfully applied to slab continuous casting in our country and solved the problem of slab longitudinal crack, and then was gradually popularized and applied. In recent years, a series of protective slag has been established, Some special fluxes for continuous casting of special steel are developed, which provide necessary conditions for further development of continuous casting in China. There have many kinds of refractoryproducts in our factory.

Function of mold fluxes:

1 Insulation
2 Isolating air and preventing molten steel from oxidizing two times
3 Purify the slag interface and absorb the inclusions in molten steel
4 Lubrication shell and improve the heat transfer of solidification
